Image Upscaler
Transform low-resolution images into stunning high-quality masterpieces. Dream Engine's Upscaler uses advanced AI to enhance detail, clarity, and resolution while maintaining the integrity of your original image.
π¨ Pro Feature: Image Upscaler requires a Pro or Studio subscription plan.
How It Works
Dream Engine's Upscaler analyzes your image at a pixel level and uses AI to intelligently add detail, enhance sharpness, and increase resolution. Choose between Creative mode (adds artistic detail) or Precision mode (focuses on sharpness and accuracy).
The Upscaler Interface
The Upscaler features a professional 3-column layout designed for efficient workflow:
Understanding the Interface
Getting Started - Step by Step
Step 1: Select an Image
Browse your library in the left column and click on an image you want to upscale. The image will load in the center canvas.
Best results with images between 512x512 and 2048x2048 pixels
Works with any aspect ratio
Supports PNG and JPEG formats
Step 2: Choose Your Mode
Select between Creative or Precision mode based on your needs:
Creative Mode
Uses AI to add artistic detail and enhance the image creatively. Best for artwork, illustrations, and photos where you want enhanced beauty and detail.
Precision Mode
Focuses on technical sharpness and detail preservation. Best for product photos, documents, or when you need maximum accuracy to the original.
Step 3: Adjust Settings
Use the sliders in the right panel to fine-tune the upscaling parameters. Each mode has different settings:
Creative Mode Parameters:
Creativity (-10 to +10): How much AI adds new artistic detail. Higher values = more creative freedom.
HDR (-10 to +10): Dynamic range enhancement. Brightens shadows and manages highlights.
Resemblance (-10 to +10): How closely the result matches the original. Higher = stays truer to source.
Fractality (-10 to +10): Fractal pattern detail enhancement for complex textures.
Precision Mode Parameters:
Sharpen (0-100): Edge sharpness intensity. Higher values create crisper edges.
Smart Grain (0-100): Texture and grain preservation. Maintains natural film-like quality.
Ultra Detail (0-100): Fine detail enhancement. Brings out microscopic details.
π‘ Pro Tip: Start with default settings (middle values) and make small adjustments. Extreme values can produce unnatural results.
Step 4: Upscale
Click the "Upscale" button in the top right. Your job will be added to the Queue:
Processing typically takes 30-90 seconds
Jobs appear in the bottom tray with a status indicator
You can start new upscales while others process
Completed jobs automatically move to the Completed tab
Step 5: Review & Download
Once complete, click the job in the Completed tab to view it:
Use the comparison slider to see before/after
Click "Download" to save the upscaled image
The upscaled image is also saved to your Media Library automatically

When to Use Creative Mode
Creative mode is ideal for:
Artwork & Illustrations: Adds painterly details and artistic flourishes
Character Portraits: Enhances facial features and adds lifelike detail
Fantasy & Sci-Fi Images: Brings out magical or futuristic elements
Landscapes: Enriches natural textures like clouds, water, foliage
Low-Quality Sources: Can reconstruct missing detail creatively
When to Use Precision Mode
Precision mode is ideal for:
Product Photography: Maintains accurate colors and shapes
Technical Drawings: Preserves clean lines and edges
Screenshots: Keeps text and UI elements sharp and readable
Architectural Photos: Maintains straight lines and geometric accuracy
Documents: Enhances without adding artistic interpretation
Advanced Techniques
Parameter Combinations for Specific Results
Multi-Pass Upscaling
For maximum quality, you can upscale in multiple passes:
First Pass: Use Precision mode with moderate settings
Second Pass: Use Creative mode with low creativity to add polish
Result: Sharp, detailed image with artistic enhancement
β οΈ Note: Each upscale costs tokens, so multi-pass upscaling uses more credits. Only use this technique for your most important images.
Best Practices
Image Selection
Sweet Spot: 512x512 to 1024x1024 images work best
Avoid Tiny Images: Images below 256x256 may not upscale well
Avoid Huge Images: Very large images (over 2048px) may be rejected or time out
Quality Matters: Clean, well-composed images upscale better than blurry or heavily compressed ones
Parameter Adjustment Strategy
Start Default: Use middle values (0 for Creative, 50 for Precision) as your baseline
Adjust One at a Time: Change one parameter, test, then adjust another
Small Increments: Move sliders by 1-2 units, not in big jumps
Save Successful Settings: Note down parameter combinations that work well for specific image types
Workflow Optimization
Batch Similar Images: Use the same settings for images with similar characteristics
Queue Multiple Jobs: Start several upscales at once; they process in parallel
Use the Comparison Slider: Always compare before/after before downloading
Keep Originals: Your original images remain in the library - you can try different settings anytime

Troubleshooting
Upscale Looks Too Artificial
Solution: Reduce Creativity (Creative mode) or Sharpen (Precision mode). Increase Resemblance to stay closer to the original.
Image Lost Detail
Solution: Try Precision mode instead of Creative. Increase Ultra Detail slider. Ensure source image quality is reasonable.
Colors Look Oversaturated
Solution: Lower HDR setting (Creative mode). Try Precision mode which preserves original colors more accurately.
Upscale Job Failed
Causes & Solutions:
Image too large: Try a smaller source image (under 2048px)
Image corrupted: Re-save or re-export the original image
Server timeout: Wait a few minutes and try again
Insufficient tokens: Check your token balance
Results Inconsistent
Solution: Use consistent settings for similar images. Some images naturally upscale better than others. Images with clear subjects and good composition always perform best.

Tips for Professional Results
Test First: Try both Creative and Precision modes with default settings before adjusting
Compare Always: Use the slider to verify improvements before downloading
Match Content to Mode: Artistic images β Creative, Technical images β Precision
Subtle Is Better: Moderate settings often look more professional than extreme values
Consider the End Use: Print needs different settings than web display
Keep Experimenting: Different images respond differently to same settings
Quality In = Quality Out: Start with the best source image possible
Use Appropriate Resolution: Don't upscale more than necessary for your use case
π‘ Pro Workflow: Select image β Start with default settings β Upscale β Review with comparison slider β If needed, adjust one parameter and retry β Download when satisfied. This systematic approach saves tokens and produces better results.
