Hydrolux Go+ Cleaning Instructions

Updated over a year ago

How to Clean Your Hydrolux Go+ with a Descaler

To ensure the optimal performance and longevity of your Hydrolux Go+, it’s important to regularly clean the unit using a descaler. This process helps to remove any mineral buildup that can affect the efficiency of the hydrogen generation.

Materials Needed:

  • Descaler (preferably citric acid-based)

  • Clean water

  • Soft cloth or sponge

  • Measuring cup

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Descaling Solution:

    • Follow the instructions on your descaler packaging to prepare the solution. If using a citric acid-based descaler, mix the recommended amount with water in a measuring cup. Typically, a mixture of 2 tablespoons of citric acid per 1 liter of water is effective.

  2. Fill the Hydrolux Chamber:

    • Ensure the Hydrolux Go+ is turned off and unplugged.

    • Pour the prepared descaling solution into the water chamber of the Hydrolux Go+ up to the maximum fill line.

  3. Let the Solution Sit:

    • Allow the descaling solution to sit in the chamber for up to 12 hours. This duration will help to effectively break down any mineral buildup inside the unit.

  4. Rinse Thoroughly:

    • After the descaling process, empty the chamber and thoroughly rinse it with clean water to remove any residual descaling solution. You may need to rinse multiple times to ensure all traces of the descaler are removed.

  5. Clean the Exterior:

    • Dampen a soft cloth or sponge with clean water and wipe down the exterior of the unit. Avoid getting water into the electronic components or charging port.

  6. Dry the Unit:

    • Use a dry cloth to wipe down the unit and remove any excess moisture. Ensure the water chamber is completely dry before reassembling and using the Hydrolux Go+.

  7. Reassemble and Test:

    • Reassemble any parts that were removed during the cleaning process. Make sure that all components are tightly screwed back on and properly aligned.

    • Plug in the unit and run a test session with clean water to ensure it is functioning properly and that there is no residual taste from the descaling solution.

Suggested Descalers:

  • Citric Acid Descaler: A natural and effective option for descaling, often available in powder form.

  • Commercial Descalers: Brands such as Dezcal and Durgol offer specialized descaling solutions that are safe and effective.

Tips for Regular Maintenance:

  • Clean the unit with a descaler once a month or as needed based on the frequency of use and the hardness of your water.

  • Always use the recommended amount of water and descaler to avoid damage to the unit.

  • Store the Hydrolux Go+ in a cool, dry place when not in use to prevent buildup and maintain its efficiency.

By following these steps and using recommended descalers, you can keep your Hydrolux Go+ in optimal condition, ensuring you continue to enjoy the benefits of clean, hydrogen-rich water.
